A group of 25 girls from Brevard County got a special treat recently as they traveled to the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens in Delray Beach to enjoy the new samurai exhibit.Their visit was led by one of the museum's docents, who explained the samurai culture and showed them the rare display of suits of armor, elaborate helmets and weapons in the showcases. Most of the items were fashioned during the Edo period (1600-1868).

Brevard Zoo attraction (July 22, 2014) Brevard Zoo has been awarded the Gold Level certification by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism. It's the first time for a zoo in Florida to get the certification and is the largest attraction in the state to hold a Gold Level status. Brevard Zoo, a 75-acre attraction in Melbourne, calls itself a community zoo. It was built in the early 90s in a largely volunteer effort.
